    Sounds like some jealous Americans.
Americans can’t seem to stand that Chinese seem to be kicking their ass these days.
Even Laura admitted that it is a Chinese dish.

The “Chinese” restaurants are the ones that call this Orange Chicken. If they didn’t reference it as a Chinese takeaway menu item no one would know what sort of recipe they were referencing. However, I do agree with your sentiment. I refer to recipes like this as Americanized Chinese …same for hard shell tacos as Americanized Mexican food. It’s about taking elements of that culture’s cooking style and altering it to suit mainstream American taste buds.

Our family owns a Chinese Restaurant, every food need fresh sauce, specially something as to do with fruit. So that lady in the blue
has already failed. And you will never ever put ginger in some sweet food, specially something with fruit. She failed again. And the orangey juice is NOT fresh squeeze, it might pack with some chemical. So NO.

it was created by Chinese Americans and therefore is sold in CHINESE restaurants as CHINESE takeaway. It may not be ancient authentic, but it was developed by Chinese people. Chinese American culture is still Chinese.

there’s actually a dish called orange chicken in china but instead of using fresh orange zest, the authentic dish is made with dried orange zest and of course, the flavor is completely different.
