Kale is a cool cabbage that kicks broccoli’s ass (at least in this recipe it does). For more Chef Buck video recipes check out the playlist Ginger-Kale Stir Fry ingredients: 1 bunch KALE 1 inch piece fresh GINGER 1 medium ONION (cut into slices) ½ cup CARROT (thin cut or string cut) 1 hot PEPPER (finely chopped, optional) 1 Tbsp SESAME OIL SALT (to taste) 1 Tbsp TAHINI 3-4 Tbsp SOY SAUCE directions: Divide a 1″ piece of ginger into two halves. Finely chop one half to use in the sauce and thinly slice the other half and set aside to cook with the stir fry. In a small bowl, mix together the tahini and soy sauce until a thin peanut-buttery consistency is achieved. Mix the finely chopped ginger into the sauce and set aside. Wash kale, remove spine, and cut or tear into mouth-manageable pieces. Heat the sesame oil on medium high and sauté onion slices and finely chopped pepper for 1 minute. Add a pinch of salt (not much salt will be needed because of the salt in the soy sauce). Add Ginger slices and cook for another minute. Reduce heat to medium and add the kale and carrots. Mix thoroughly with the onion, pepper, and ginger. Cover and allow to cook for 2 minutes. Turn off heat and add sauce. Toss well and serve hot (and it goes great with rice). Bon appétit!     thanks–and I agree–the sauce really makes it yummy. I use tahini and also peanut butter in a lot of sauces for vegetables–I’m all about the easy.

    There’s a lot of videos on kale dishes that I have tried and this is by far the best. I just tried it this afternoon and I intend to have this regularly. The Tahini and soy sauce mixture hooked it up.

    Thanks! Tahini is simply ground sesame seeds. It has a consistency similiar to natural peanut butter. It’s readily available in most large supermarkets and a great ingredient for throwing together a quick sauce (and is essential for making hummus)

    you can’t beat garden fresh greens and herbs–I definitely miss my old yard. I don’t have a chard specific video recipe, but the beet greens video in my recipe playlist works with chard

    We have a perpetual Kale plant growing in our garden .. it just keeps going and going.. Chard appears to do that too.. I think they call chard “Perpetual spinach”… We need to grow more kale and just keep a bed for them.. the one we have doesn’t have too much on it.. so more plants would be better and then we won’t need to go to the store to get our kale!… Do you have any Swiss Chard recipes?

    I could eat kale every day! This recipe looks awesome! I make kale chips too! I always make sure I get organic kale…..tastes much better!

    I couldn’t find Tahini at my grocery store…Gonna have to wait till we go to the city. And also i grew kale in my garden and it seemed like a peppery tasting green…
