
Get an inside look at Augusta’s newest, and most unusual, realty office.
It’s not a restaurant – it just looks like one.
The beach house-styled building under construction at 2735 Washington Road is actually the future office for Summer House Realty, one of Augusta’s newest real estate firms.
The boutique brokerage with a sun-bleached facade is the creation of the married team of James and Jenny Schaffer, two Augusta natives currently residing in Amelia Island, Fla.
“It’s definitely going to stick out more than anything in Augusta,” James Schaffer said.
The 3,000-square-foot office (and its 1,800-square-foot deck overlooking Washington Road) is a close facsimile of the one they built in the Florida beach town nearly six years ago.
Nestled between the Arby’s and the former New Peking Chinese restaurant, Summer House Realty was specifically designed to look and feel like a summer home.
“We want this to be a customer service/networking kind of place,” said Schaffer, who was previously an agent with Keller Williams’ Augusta office. “It’s the kind of place you don’t mind bringing clients to.”
